Tell us the basics: Where you’re from, where you live currently, your family, etc.
My name is Jennifer Holstad. I currently reside and have lived in Phoenix, Arizona my entire life. I have been married to my wonderful husband Steve for 24 years and we have one son Timothy who is a freshman at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. So we are now empty nesters.
Tell us about your business and how you serve your clients.
My virtual assistant business, A Byte In Time, was started in 1995 when my son was one years old. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom but felt there must be a way to still contribute some income to our household. I started out by typing student college papers and then I was getting calls from small business owners to help them with their administrative tasks. I was doing this full-time until the end of 2005 when a lot of my clients wanted to retire, wanted to go back into the corporate world, or decided to save money and do everything themselves. At that time, my husband had been out of a job for over a year, so I felt I needed to find a part-time job in the corporate world to make ends meet. I was offered a Librarian Assistant position at my son’s elementary school in January 2006 and I stayed there until September 2012. I still operated my business during this time in the evenings when I got home. But now I am a full-time entrepreneur again.
What are you currently working on, launching, or just generally excited about in your business?
I am excited about being able to operate my business full-time again by helping small business owners with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, bookkeeping, invoicing, proofreading/editing, mailings, data entry, Internet research, calendar management, appointment confirmation and other administrative tasks. I love helping small business owners save time and not worry about the details so they can concentrate on what they do best in their businesses. I am also working with a business coach to help me take my business to a new level including rebranding myself.
What does it mean to you personally to be a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, and how are you “walking that out” in your business endeavors?
To me, being a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur means being a faith-based business owner with God as the head of my business. I walk that out in my business endeavors by being trustworthy and reliable, giving my customers quality services, and treating all my customers with respect.
What are 1 or 2 of your favorite scriptures that inspire you?
One of my favorite Scriptures that inspires me is Ephesians 2:89 because I know it is by grace that I was saved through faith and not by works so that no one can boast, the complete opposite of how I was raised. The other Scripture that I love is Proverbs 3:56 because I want to trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding while acknowledging Him in all my ways so He will make my path straight.
What are 3 books that have inspired you or helped you with your business?
The books that have inspired me are the Bible, Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey, and Get Clients Now by C.J. Hayden.
How can your fellow Kingdom Driven Entrepreneurs help you?
My fellow Kingdom Driven Entrepreneurs can help by praying for me, referring small business owners who need administrative help to me, checking out my website, following me on social media, and liking my Facebook business page.
