5 Reasons Why You Need To Publish A Book This Year
by Shae Bynes, Co-Founder of Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur
Publishing a book – in either physical or digital format – has never been easier than it is now. There are few barriers to self-publishing, and the benefits for an entrepreneur are MANY. We strongly encourage you to make publishing at least one book a goal in your business this year. Here’s why:
1. Establish Credibility and “Expert Status”. A book establishes instant credibility for you. People will consider you an expert simply because you shared your knowledge in a published book. It’s true! Even though the barriers to publishing have lowered signficantly, the majority of people will never publish a book which increases the value and prestige of actually doing it. By the way, even if you self-publish rather than work with a traditional publisher, you STILL gain expert status…but please make sure it’s a well-written book!
2. Create Additional Revenue Streams. People WILL pay you for what you know. By writing a book, you’ll have an opportunity to generate additional income streams — not only from the book sales, but also through potential speaking opportunities and additional products that can be birthed from your book (for example short reports, home study courses, audio versions of your book, video courses).
3. Differentiate Yourself From Competition. As mentioned earlier, the majority of people will never publish a book….this includes other business owners. Writing a book sets you apart (refer to reason #1 again).
4. Attract More Clients/Customers. A book is an amazing marketing tool and phenomenal business card. Having a book available in a global marketplace such as Amazon.com will introduce your book to prospects who would ordinarily not find you through other traditional marketing means.
5. Attract More Strategic Partners. Not only will your book attract more clients and customers, but it will also open doors for strategic alliances and joint ventures with other businesses.
Take a moment to write down some book topic ideas based on your business and commit to a timeline for completing a book.
