Member Spotlight: Sabine Brandt

This week’s spotlight is on Sabine Brandt, a former corporate executive who left the corporate world behind to focus on what God called her to do as a coach to entrepreneurs of faith. We’re grateful to have Sabine as a part of our community! Read what she has to share in our interview below.

Tell us the basics: Your name, where you’re from and where you live currently, your family, etc.

My name is Sabine Brandt and I live in Minneapolis, MN. I share a vivacious home with my blended family of 3 teenagers, my husband and a couple of dogs and cats. I am originally from Germany where I grew up, studied and spent the first few years of my career. I have been in the US since 1994 and have since become a proud citizen of this amazing country. When I am not busy helping entrepreneurs succeed in their businesses, I spend my time with my family and enjoy reading, gardening, volunteering, and practicing martial arts.

Tell us briefly about your business and when you started.

I started my business in August of 2000 with a single focus of IT consulting. As I grew professionally and went through various life changing events, my business evolved and re-invented itself many times. I moved in and out of corporate jobs several times along my path, discovered my calling to become a coach in 2006 and decided to say goodbye to my corporate exec job in 2010. I have been coaching and consulting for many years and in a variety of niche markets which ultimately led me to discover my love for coaching entrepreneurs. I particularly enjoy helping others discover how God has gifted them to succeed in the marketplace, build financial independence and create a lifestyle of freedom and self-sufficiency for themselves.

What are you currently working on, launching, or just generally excited about in your business?

I have been working on revamping all my programs in an effort to make coaching more affordable and accessible to the average person. God really spoke to me in recent months in terms of who I should serve – He put on my heart to take a Matthew 9:12 approach in how I structure what I offer to my clients. Many mentor coaches out there advise to only market to the affluent and those who have already achieved a high level of success, which allows the coach to charge high fees and yield a greater profit. This model is contrary to how God instructed me to run my business. My mission is to help my clients achieve lasting results that will truly transform their lives and the lives of those around them rather than push hands-off info products on them that end up gathering dust on a shelf.

My new program structure is composed of four core learning tracks ranging from aspiring entrepreneurs to those who have been in business for more than 5 years. All my clients enjoy the benefit of personalized 1:1 work with me to target their unique business challenges – everything we do together is directly focused on helping them achieve their business goals. In addition, I offer a variety of supplemental self-study materials.

What does it mean to you personally to be a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, and how are you “walking that out” in your business endeavors?

God has blessed me with the gifts of leadership and teaching (among others) and has called me to express these gifts in the marketplace. Until my time came to fully step into my own business, I was able to use my gifts to influence the corporate world for the glory of His kingdom by helping others discover their gifts and grow in their careers. Since starting my own business, God has directed me to equip others to step into their own calling to transform the marketplace – “on earth as it is in heaven”. It breaks my heart to see people who have given up on their dreams and settled into apathy, settling for jobs that make them miserable and feeling hopeless about their future. My greatest professional joy is when God uses me as a vessel to help liberate, encourage and empower people to boldly go for the incredible life He has planned for them.

What are 1 or 2 of your favorite scriptures that inspire you?

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 121:1-2 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”

What else would you like to tell us?

I would like to encourage your readers to keep moving forward and trust in the dreams that God has placed on their hearts. Entrepreneurship takes much perseverance and faith that God will provide the needed tools, people, and opportunities along the way. Know that your faith will grow with each step and that the rewards are much greater than the struggle. Don’t give up, you are closer than you think!
