Tell us the basics: Your name, where you’re from and where you live currently, your family, etc.

My name is Valencie Exceus. I am from Jean-Rabel, Haiti and have been living in South Florida for the past 20 years.

Tell us briefly about your business and when you started.

I started by business in October 2006 shortly after I graduated school. Highpoint Healing and Wellness is a full service Oriental Medical facility. We offer a wide range of ancient healing modalities to serve the modern diverse South Florida population.

What are you currently working on, launching, or just generally excited about in your business?

I am currently working on contents for an e-book for my website, setting up a marketing funnels, and merging my two websites www.HighpointHealing.com and www.AcupunctureFortLauderdale.com into one site.

What does it mean to you personally to be a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur, and how are you “walking that out” in your business endeavors?

Being a Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur means putting God first knowing that everything else will fall into place. When I was selecting a name for my business, I wanted a name that would be a constant reminder of God. Knowing that God is the Highest, I went into prayer, asked for a name and came back with the name Highpoint. Every time I say Highpoint Healing and Wellness, write it, or read it, I am reminded that this is a God-centered business and God is the CEO and the ultimate Healer.

Over the years, I have had times when I thought of closing my doors, and I am grateful for a dear friend who knows the real meaning of the name Highpoint, and she would always say “This is not your business, this is God’s business. You don’t have the authority to close it.” Sure enough, I always back bounce from some of the darkest most difficult moments in business.

What are 1 or 2 of your favorite scriptures that inspire you?

One of my favorite scripture is the story of the Prodigal Son. It is a reminder to always come home whenever I find myself veering off and that my brother may not always be happy about my return It’s an amazing reminder of God’s unconditional love.

My mother favorite scripture is the first chapter of Jeremiah. When I was 16 years old, I had so many unanswered questions that the church and the school couldn’t answer that I seriously considered becoming an atheist. One day, I embarked on what could have possibly been my last prayer. I told God that I was confused and lacked clarity that I wasn’t getting from school or the church, and that I needed direct guidance from God. I told God that I was going to pray and afterward open the Bible, whatever scripture I land upon would be a direct message from God. If it is something that makes absolutely no sense, I would know that there is no God and I would go on being an atheist. I did just that and randomly opened the bible to the first chapter of Jeremiah which said “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Ever since that moment, my connection with God has been the most real aspect of my life. It illumined my mind and answered so many of the questions that took me to that moment.

Last year, I attended a seminar where Stedman Graham said if you don’t know your identity, you risk having others give you an identity. Others will never identify you as greater than they are. For me, these two scriptures establish my spiritual identity. I am a daughter of the king and I belong at my Father’s house even if my brother says otherwise.
